Back to the “Matrix” :-)

I’m finally back at home arriving with a bus from Istanbul at 5am on the 11th of January. Slavi and I traveled through Turkey for nearly 6 days visiting Istanbul, Ankara, Cappadocia (Goreme, Urgup, Uchisar) and Konya in central Anadola. The rest of the travel I did with Bogi who returned on the 9th day of the trip back in Sofia.
The InterRail wasn’t much of a use because of the very slow train-speeds in Turkey pretty much like in Bulgaria with slightly better train wagons than those here.
The whole trip around Slovenia, Italy, Albania, Greece and Turkey took us 16 days and still feel very exausted of all the new experiences, sight-seeing and vivid memories 4 days after I’m back :-)
I definitely can’t complain as we got to experience some great times in Rome, Turkey and Albania.

The whole itinerary or what I can remember of it is something like this:
Orient express train from SofiaLyubliana (SL) – Venice, IT (IC train) – Milano (night train) – Verona (night train) – Rome (night train) – Florence (ES train) – Pisa (night train) – Rome (train) – Napoli (ES train) – Pompei (metro) – Rome (night train) – Bari , IT (ES train) – Ferry to Durres, Albania (night ride) – Tirana (bus) – Korcha, AL (bus) – Thesaloniki. GR (aka Solun, by bus) – Sofia (night train) – Plovdiv (train) – Istanbul , TR (bus) – Ankara (night train) – Kayseri (train) – Goreme, Cappadocia (bus) – Konya (night bus) – Istanbul (night train) – Plovdiv (night bus).

Quite a trip for a short period of time, not for the leisury person as it was a very busy and exausting travel! :-)
Will try to summarize some of our experiences over the next few days in seperate posts for each of the countries we went through. Some 2000 photos are also awaiting quaility control as the best will share on the Internet for whoever find them motivating.
