Bulgaria’s Global Competitiveness Grows

Bulgaria is up one place in the annual ranking of the Global Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum.

The document, released on Wednesday, placed the country at number 58.

The country’s telephone lines, Internet hosts and users have grown in number, WEF says.

Romania, the country that parallels Bulgaria’s EU-accession effort, was ranked 67th, the state news agency BTA said.

Turkey occupies the 66th position.

The report has estimated that Finland has the most competitive economy worldwide. The USA comes second, followed by Sweden, Denmark, Taiwan and Singapore.

Countries that have recently joined the European Union (EU) have a tendency to improve their competitiveness, it has emerged.

Greece and Italy, on the contrary, have moved down in the chart.
